What is a beauty blender and why is it worth having one?
Beauty blenders have revolutionised the world of make-up and are loved by make-up artists the world over. More and more women are using them, appreciating them for the effect they can create, their convenience of use and small shape. They are small so they fit in the palm of the hand, and the specially shaped, tapered top of the sponge is great for getting into hard-to-reach areas.
The Beauty blender is definitely a unique product. All thanks to its texture, which allows the product (usually foundation, but not only!) to be perfectly applied to the face – without streaks or spots. Not everyone knows that a beauty blender can also be used to apply… loose products! How to use it?
Before using the beauty blender, all you need to do is wet it with lukewarm water and then squeeze out the excess water. Is this necessary? Yes and no. A dry sponge will also spread foundation on your face, but the result will not be 100% perfect and you will use more product. We therefore recommend that you use a damp beauty blender every time you apply your foundation, so that you get the maximum effect with the minimum amount of product!
Here are step-by-step instructions on how to use the BP beauty blender:
- Wet it with lukewarm water, then squeeze off any excess water.
- Pour the required amount of product onto the specially designed pad or the top of your hand.
- Gently dip the sponge into the product and apply to your face, stamping spot by spot.
- Once you have used the sponge to apply liquid foundation, you can also use it to apply other products, such as bronzer.
- Wash and dry the sponge.
Cleaning the BP beauty blender sponge – how do I do it properly?
Proper handling of the BP beauty blender sponge and following our recommendations below will definitely prolong its life. Nevertheless, with regular daily use, it is best to replace the sponge every 3 months on average. Do it sooner if the product has become damaged or deformed for any reason.
Some tips for use and cleaning:
- wash the sponge immediately after using it. If you leave the sponge used for longer, it will be more difficult to wash it,
- use a bar of antibacterial soap to wash the sponge. Avoid the liquid ones as they are much harder to rinse out of the centre of the sponge,
- squeeze the beauty blender gently to create a lather that is able to reach every part of the sponge. Do not use your fingernails when doing this, so as not to damage its structure,
- rinse the sponge under running water until no more foam comes out,
